What makes our eggs so good?
"Hen fruit" (our favorite term for eggs) comes from happy hens who spend their days scratching for bugs and napping in the sun. Chickens love to chase after worms, scratch in the dirt, and pick through cow pies...That's why we raise our hens on pasture, not confinement houses.
Our hens are healthy, and our eggs are healthy for you!
How our eggs benefit you...
There are many benefits to buying eggs from a local farmer. You are getting a healthy product where you can see all the steps in the process any time you want by visiting the farm. You are helping to build the local economy. At the end of the day, you are getting a superior product for you and your family.
We built our "eggmobile" on an old hay wagon frame so it's portable. We move it every few days so the birds have a new place to eat grass and bugs. The automatic door opens every morning and closes up every night...pretty nifty!
The winter hoop house keeps the chickens warm and dry while they scratch through hay, peck at the snow outside and lay eggs all winter.
Why pasture raised eggs?
Superior to store bought eggs in every way.
You get what you pay for...
Eggs from pastured hens contain up to 20 times more healthy omega-3 fatty acids than those of their less fortunate cousins, factory hens. Pastured eggs also have 10 percent less fat, 40 percent more vitamin A, and 34 percent less cholesterol than eggs obtained from factory farms. Hens on pasture are happier and healthier! It is ecologically sustainable, humane, and produces the tastiest, most nutritious eggs.
Our customers love our creamy colored brown eggs. Each egg is shaped different and has a slightly different color. So much more interesting than plain white eggs all the same shape and size!
